Battery Box

This Battery Box is generally located in the original 4 link location but will work with 3 link and IRS and is accessed from the trunk. The Battery Box is installed between the two 3/4 inch square tubes in the trunk. With 3 link it is installed a little to the driver's side. With 4 link and IRS it is installed in the center. The back of the box top slides under the lip of the rear trunk panel, and the front is held with the screws shown. The Battery Box is made from .060 5052 aluminum and is designed to use a group 34 battery (Optima part number 9002-002 or 8002-002). Under no circumstances use a battery with side terminals in any metal battery box, even if you are not using the side terminals.
